Salem Ohio to Washington Pennsylvania - 83 Miles

By Erwin:

This morning was one of the few morning that I really didn't feel like getting going. The night had been really cold and I had not dressed warmly enough, so I was tired and felt a little under the weather.

To overcome my morning blues, I took lots of pictures, trying to capture how the sun reflected of the dewed corn fields. It was gorgeous. Still, the hills in OH/PA are steeper than they have been before and climbing them was a lot harder. But as always, we kept on riding and ultimately we got to camp.

Tomorrow, we ride for 90 miles through the hills. Luckily, 60 miles will be over former railroad tracks that have been turned into cycling trails. That means that the maximum grade is 3% - pretty flat. Should be a nice day, if I manage to dress warmly enough for another night of low 50's temperatures.

Today rode a lot like yesterday.  Pretty hilly, but quite scenic.  We made stops on the way for ice cream and subway sandwiches and rolled into camp as happy riders.  What more could you ask from a day of biking?
