Gettysburg Pennsylvania to Clarksburg Maryland - 50 miles

Today was pretty much uneventful - Lucija and I rode easily through the MD countryside on this short day. Around 10:30 we reached a pretty built-up shopping area and decided we'd rather go watch a movie than sit in camp after arriving early. Still, we felt pretty silly reaching the still closed theater, but it was nice to spend some time relaxing and enjoying some modern comforts.

Once we reached camp, most people were already starting to go to the "Reception" that was organized at a local restaurant. Once we had set up our tents, we also joined the party. We had some appetizers and drinks and took the opportunity to thank the volunteers for making the ride possible.

Tomorrow, is the big day of our arrival into DC. Hopefully, my bike will hold up and the traffic will not be too bad. We'll see.

Today was all about anticipation.  Knowing that we are only 50 miles away from DC filled me with a strong desire to finish the ride!

As Erwin mentioned, the riders and staff had a little party at a nearby restaurant tonight.  We used the opportunity to celebrate the end of our ride with the riders and staff and think about how far we have come.  Hopefully all will go well tomorrow and we'll all safely ride into DC!
